Finca camaronera La Apintal belongs to Grupo Camaronero El Faro, located in the village La Montaña, Municipality of Nacaome, Department of Valle, Honduras. The company started aquaculture operations in the Gulf of Fonseca, in 2013. Its main activity is exclusively the production of Pacific white shrimp (L. vanammei).
The farm operates in an area of 123.53 hectares and, during the year 2017, harvested 615 tons of shrimp, which were processed in the Empacador Santa Inés, one of the main shrimp exporting plants in Honduras (establishment authorized by the EEC 29C) .
Shrimp Group El Faro, as a member of ANDAH, through FUNDESUR, supports projects that support neighboring communities in education, health, and other social and environmental issues.
The human capital of the farm consists of 54 employees, who enjoy fair and safe working conditions, as well as access to direct training for personal educational development.
